Job Description
Mahajan Therapeutics seeks a School Based Mental Health Counselor to provide therapeutic services to students in Ohio schools. In this role, you will deliver assessments, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and ongoing care coordination for children and adolescents. You will collaborate closely with school staff, families, and a multidisciplinary clinical team to support social-emotional development, address behavioral and mental health concerns, and connect students to community resources. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling to students in a school-based setting Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans Deliver crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning as needed Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student success Coordinate care and referrals with community and internal behavioral health services Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations Use evidence-based, trauma-informed practices aligned with organizational standards Support program development, outreach, and school partnership initiatives Uphold ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards in all clinical work Required Skills Clinical assessment and diagnosis Individual counseling Group counseling Crisis intervention and de-escalation Treatment planning and documentation Knowledge of evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care) Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Collaboration with schools and families Risk assessment and safety planning Case management and care coordination
