A Mental or Behavioral Health Counselor works with patients to treat mental health problems. Assesses patients and assists with diagnosis, counseling and crisis intervention. Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.
Must hold an active OH - LSW or LPC or LISW or LPCC We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapist/Counselor (LSW, LPC, LISW, or LPCC) to join our interdisciplinary mental health treatment team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals within a correctional setting, delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, conducting mental health assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals to support treatment planning and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling services to assigned clients in accordance with individualized mental health treatment plans. Conduct comprehensive mental health screenings, psychosocial assessments, and risk evaluations, including suicide risk assessments, within the scope of licensure and organizational policies. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Serve as the mental health liaison for an assigned caseload, monitoring treatment progress, documenting outcomes, and coordinating ongoing care. Facilitate psychoeducational and psychosocial group interventions designed to promote emotional wellness, coping skills, and behavioral change. Complete psychosocial needs assessments, transfer summaries, discharge planning, and other clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborate with medical staff, security personnel, and other professionals to address clients' behavioral health needs and institutional adjustment. Coordinate referrals to internal and community-based resources to support continuity of care upon transfer or discharge. Maintain accurate electronic health records, progress notes, treatment documentation, and required reports in accordance with agency policies and professional standards. Communicate effectively with treatment team members, community agencies, and, when appropriate, family members regarding client care. Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, interdisciplinary case reviews, and ongoing professional development activities. Maintain compliance with all applicable licensing regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay:
