Job Description

EMDR/Family Counselor The EMDR Therapist is responsible for providing evidence-based trauma treatment to patients in a residential substance use treatment setting. This role requires collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure trauma-focused interventions are delivered safely, ethically, and in accordance with each client's stage ofrecovery and clinical readiness. Clinical Responsibilities Provide EMDR therapy utilizing current EMDR protocols and best practices. Monitor client stability throughout treatment and adjust interventions as clinically indicated. Incorporate grounding, stabilization, and emotional regulation techniques before, during, and after EMDR sessions. Recognize and respond appropriately to signs of dissociation, relapse risk, emotional dysregulation, or psychiatric instability. Maintain appropriate therapeutic boundaries and uphold ethical standards of practice. Minimum Qualifications Active clinical licensure (LPC, LPCC, LCSW, LISW, or equivalent as required by state law). Completion of EMDR Basic Training through an EMDR-approved training provider. EMDR Certification preferred but not required. Experience treating trauma and co-occurring substance use disorders. Experience in residential or behavioral health treatment settings preferred.
