Job Description

At River Rock Academy, we provide specialized education and counseling for students facing behavioral and academic challenges. As a School Counselor at River Rock Academy, you'll help students develop new skills and reach their goals by building strong relationships and providing support through life's challenges. You'll collaborate with families, school districts, and a multidisciplinary team to create positive, lasting change for every student. What You'll Need Active certification or license as a school counselor, social worker, psychologist, therapist, or drug and alcohol counselor, as required for the population served Experience providing case management or counseling to youth in a school or mental health setting Strong skills in documentation, organization, and communicating with families and professionals Knowledge of Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations, behavior modification, and mental health supports for children and adolescents Completion of mandatory trainings, including Child Abuse/Mandated Reporting and Suicide Prevention What You'll Do Guide students through intake, orientation, and goal setting as they begin at River Rock Academy Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management for assigned students Document all sessions, communications, and interventions using the school's systems and complete required progress reports Lead and participate in review meetings, prepare and send communications for student attendance, progress, and discharge planning Work closely with families, community agencies, and school partners to coordinate supports and help students transition successfully Why You'll Love Working Here Enjoy both paid time off and extra paid school breaks (for select roles), plus paid holidays Wellness perks including gym discounts, mindfulness apps, and prescription savings Tuition reimbursement, career development programs, and leadership training 401(k) retirement savings with a 4% company match and immediate vesting Health, dental, and vision insurance Free Employee Assistance Program with confidential counseling, life coaching, and mental health resources Life insurance, disability coverage, and Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions at no cost to you River Rock Academy is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
