Diakon Behavioral Health Services offers a range of counseling and behavioral services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, Lewisburg, Montoursville, Williamsport, within several public-school buildings, Kennett Square, and Chester County. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addiction counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors.
General Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains a professional and supportive relationship with youth and their families by providing therapeutic interventions. Provides individual, couple, family and/or group therapy sessions. Acts as a liaison with youth, birth families, referring personnel, treatment providers, and others involved in the lives of children and youth.
Provides crisis management services as needed.
Education/Training:
A Master's degree in human services required (psychology, social work, mental health counseling or related field). OMHSAS certification required.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years' of experience in related positions normally required.
ADA:
Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills
