Job Description

Counselor Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our behavioral health team. The Counselor will play a vital role in supporting clients through mental health and addiction treatment processes. This position involves conducting mental health assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, facilitating group therapy sessions, and maintaining thorough clinical documentation. The ideal candidate will utilize evidence-based practices to promote recovery and well-being among diverse client populations. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate clients' psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs. Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating evidence-based practices tailored to individual goals. Provide individual counseling sessions focused on mental health issues and addiction recovery. Facilitate group therapy sessions and run support groups to foster peer support and community engagement. Offer addiction counseling services, supporting clients through recovery processes. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation of all client interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Communicate effectively with clients to build trust, encourage engagement, and support ongoing treatment efforts. Stay informed about current best practices in behavioral health and integrate evidence-based approaches into counseling services. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field; a Master's degree or higher is preferred. Valid licensure or certification as required by state or local regulations (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker). Experience working in behavioral health settings with diverse populations preferred. Strong knowledge of mental health assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with clients. Ability to facilitate groups and run support groups confidently. Compassionate approach with a commitment to client-centered care and recovery-oriented practices. Strong organizational skills for managing clinical documentation accurately and efficiently.
