Job Description

Crisis Intervention Specialist - Full-Time Mid shift (12pm - 8pm) Center for Community Resources Forest-Warren Counties, PA Want to work for an agency that has been voted Best Places to Work in Western PA for 11 Consecutive years? Center for Community Resources Crisis Intervention Services is looking for a compassionate mental health professional. Crisis Intervention services include telephone and mobile assessment, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, referral and linking to community resources. Work in a supportive team environment while helping people access mental health/drug and alcohol services in Forest-Warren Counties. This is a full-time, overnight position. Must be flexible to cover weekends responding to mental health emergencies. Crisis Intervention services operate 24/7, 365 days year, so willing to help as needed. The starting salary for this position is $21.54/hr. We also offer a possible higher salary based on experience. Crisis Counselors will be part of an on-call rotation to respond to the community. The On-Call hourly rate is $23.00/hr and we pay a stipend of up to $400.00 per week when covering on call for one full week.
Essential Functions:
Provide mobile mental health crisis intervention, assessment for safety and general needs. Complete all reports and documentation in a timely fashion. Maintain quality standards. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and some additional office hours. Able to exercise sound judgement. Maintain strict confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field required. With major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field AND one year experience in mental health field required. Valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required. Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply.

Must have a Bachelor's degree with major course work in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling, Education or a related field. (Degree/course work is Sociology, Social Work, Human Development and Psychology are strongly preferred) or Be a registered nurse or Have a High School diploma or equivalency AND 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other Social Science AND 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience (Associates degree with minimum of 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology and Human Development is strongly preferred) (2 years of direct mental health experience is strongly preferred)
Experience:
One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree. See experience requirements above for applicants without a bachelors degree.
Licenses, Certificates or Clearances:
Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances. Valid Driver's License. Car Insurance Coverage Verification.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of de-escalation techniques, computer literate, knowledge of 302/201 process, and knowledge of PA resources.
