Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Admission and Triage Therapist to join our mental health and behavioral services team. Duties Conduct thorough mental health assessments and clinical documentation in accordance with
HIPAA, ICD-10/ICD-9
coding standards, and clinical documentation guidelines. Facilitate patient intake processes via in-person or telehealth platforms, ensuring accurate collection of medical history, psychosocial factors, and current symptoms. Provide crisis intervention and immediate support for individuals experiencing acute mental health or behavioral crises, utilizing de-escalation techniques and crisis management protocols. Develop individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations, incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, medical professionals, and educators—to coordinate patient care plans for children, youth, adults with disabilities, or co-occurring disorders. Utilize electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems to document patient interactions accurately while maintaining compliance with clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA regulations. Engage in ongoing research and data collection efforts to improve service delivery outcomes; participate in case management activities and group therapy sessions as needed. Qualifications Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related mental health field; licensure or certification preferred. Extensive experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Geriatrics populations, or those with PTSD or trauma histories. Proficiency in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and trauma-focused approaches. Strong knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, treatment planning, and diagnostic evaluation procedures. Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor; experience in crisis management and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and experience providing remote therapy sessions; proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is essential. Excellent communication skills for client engagement; experience working with individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders or complex mental health conditions is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines to ensure confidentiality and professional integrity at all times.
