Adult Therapist 5454 Wisconsin Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD 20815 Hybrid work From $150 an hour - Contract From $150 an hour - Contract Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adult Therapist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide expert mental health counseling and psychotherapy services to adult clients, helping them navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth. Your expertise will support individuals dealing with a wide range of mental health issues, including trauma, addiction, developmental disabilities, and more. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives through evidence-based practices and personalized care. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine treatment needs using clinical research methods and ICD coding standards such as ICD-10 and ICD-9. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, child & family counseling, addiction counseling, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma, including PTSD care. Collect and maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality while utilizing medical terminology effectively. Collaborate with case management teams to coordinate home & community care services, ensuring holistic support for clients across settings. Participate in clinical research initiatives to improve therapeutic approaches and contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices. Experience Proven experience in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, or mental health counseling within a healthcare or hospital setting. Demonstrated expertise in working with children, adolescents, adults, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Strong background in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral management techniques. Familiarity with medical documentation standards including CPT coding for billing purposes and ICD coding for diagnoses. Knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and other evidence-based treatment modalities. Experience working with diverse populations in community care environments or home-based settings is highly desirable. Ability to utilize data collection tools for patient assessment outcomes and clinical research efforts effectively.
