Clínica Médicos, a pioneer in integrated medical care for the Spanish-speaking community, is seeking compassionate and culturally competent mental health professionals to join our team. This role encompasses providing comprehensive behavioral health services within our integrated medical model, aiming to address both physical and mental health needs.
Position Overview:
As an Integrated Behavioral Health Therapist/Counselor, you will conduct individual counseling sessions with Spanish-speaking patients, addressing various mental health concerns alongside medical treatment. Collaborating closely with healthcare providers, you will develop holistic treatment plans integrating mental health care with medical interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual counseling sessions with Spanish-speaking patients to address mental health concerns. Utilize bilingual and multicultural skills for effective communication and cultural sensitivity. When appropriate, collaborate with healthcare providers to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Assess patients' mental health status and develop personalized treatment goals. Provide psychoeducation to patients and families in Spanish and English. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care. Stay informed about current research and best practices in culturally competent care. Adhere to professional codes of ethics and maintain patient confidentiality. Collaborate with community resources to facilitate access to support services.
Qualifications:
Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field. Licensed or eligible for licensure as a therapist/counselor in Tennessee with a minimum of 3 years of counseling experience. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English. Having been trained and prepared for trauma focused modalities, such as TF-CBT or EMDR. Knowledge of evidence-based counseling approaches and interventions. Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of Spanish-speaking populations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
