This position is hybrid between in office sessions and telehealth sessions. As a Clinical Counselor, you will deliver evidence-based therapies, conduct thorough assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and support clients through their healing journeys. Responsibilities Conduct mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical documentation standards and ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10. Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies. Develop and monitor personalized treatment plans aligned with client goals, clinical ethical guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation standards. Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA privacy standards and clinical documentation requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), addiction issues, or chronic pain. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while adhering to confidentiality policies. Skills Extensive experience in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavior management, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and social work principles. Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments for diverse populations including children with special needs or developmental disabilities. Strong skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management techniques to support clients during acute episodes. Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes. Experience working with telehealth platforms ensuring seamless virtual care delivery compliant with HIPAA standards. Ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans based on clinical research findings and evidence-based practices tailored to individual client needs. Excellent communication skills for effective client engagement and collaboration with healthcare providers; adept at patient assessment and clinical documentation standards. Familiarity with medical terminology related to mental health conditions; experience working within inpatient or outpatient settings is preferred.
