This position is ideal for a clinician who values autonomy, trauma-informed care, professional growth, and the opportunity to gradually develop a caseload within a supportive private-practice environment. Clinicians will primarily provide individual psychotherapy to clients presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns and backgrounds. Our practice incorporates evidence-based and trauma-focused approaches, including traditional psychotherapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, CBT, and other trauma-informed interventions based on clinician training and client needs. EMDR and/or Brainspotting training is preferred but is not required. For the right clinician, the practice may cover the cost of approved EMDR or Brainspotting training in exchange for a minimum two-year commitment to the practice following completion of the funded training, subject to a separate written training agreement. Caseload Development This is a caseload-building position, and applicants should understand that developing a consistent private-practice caseload takes time. The practice will provide opportunities for referrals through available referral and credentialing sources; however, a specific number of clients, sessions, or weekly hours cannot be guaranteed. Caseloads are expected to grow gradually based on referrals, client demand, clinician availability, insurance participation, scheduling, client retention, and clinician-client fit. This position is best suited for someone comfortable beginning with a smaller caseload and growing with the practice over time. Compensation This is a 1099 independent contractor position with a 70/30 compensation split. Clinician receives 70% Practice receives 30% Compensation is based on payments actually collected for services provided and may vary depending on insurance reimbursement rates and other applicable payment arrangements. Clinicians who are not currently credentialed with participating insurance companies may be eligible to complete credentialing through Headway, subject to Headway's credentialing requirements and approval. Responsibilities Provide high-quality individual psychotherapy to assigned clients. Assess and treat clients presenting with a variety of clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, adjustment difficulties, relationship concerns, life transitions, stress, grief, and other behavioral health needs within the clinician's scope of competence. Work effectively with clients from diverse populations, backgrounds, identities, cultures, and life experiences. Develop individualized treatment plans and regularly evaluate progress toward treatment goals. Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions appropriate to each client's presenting concerns. Provide EMDR and/or Brainspotting when appropriately trained and clinically indicated. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and comply with ethical and legal standards governing psychotherapy. Complete progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and other required clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain documentation that meets applicable insurance, practice, legal, and ethical requirements. Maintain an organized schedule and communicate promptly regarding scheduling concerns, client needs, cancellations, and other practice-related matters. Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients and the practice. Participate in care coordination when clinically appropriate and authorized. Recognize situations requiring a higher level of care and make appropriate referrals when a client's needs fall outside the clinician's scope or the capabilities of the practice. Follow applicable procedures regarding risk assessment, mandated reporting, crisis situations, and client safety. Protect client confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements and all applicable Florida laws and professional regulations. Maintain active professional liability/malpractice insurance. Maintain all required licenses, continuing education, and professional credentials throughout the contractual relationship. Required Qualifications & Experience Active, unrestricted Florida mental health professional license required, such as LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT, as applicable to the position. Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or another qualifying behavioral health discipline. Experience providing individual psychotherapy. Experience working with a diverse range of clients and presenting concerns. Ability to independently assess, conceptualize, and develop appropriate treatment plans. Strong clinical judgment and understanding of professional ethics, boundaries, confidentiality, and risk management. Ability to complete clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes. Comfortable working independently in a private-practice environment. Dependable, organized, responsive, and professional. Ability to maintain appropriate communication with the practice regarding clinical and administrative responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Training or experience in EMDR. Training or experience in Brainspotting. Experience providing trauma-focused psychotherapy. Experience treating trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, and related concerns. Previous private-practice or outpatient mental health experience. Experience working with insurance-based clients. Currently credentialed with commercial insurance panels is a plus, but is not required. Interest in continuing education and developing advanced trauma-treatment skills. Training & Professional Development We value clinicians who are interested in developing specialized trauma-treatment skills. Clinicians who are not currently trained in EMDR or Brainspotting may have the opportunity for the practice to pay for an approved training course. Practice-funded training requires a minimum two-year commitment following completion of the training and will be governed by a separate written agreement outlining eligibility, costs, expectations, and any applicable repayment obligations. They understand that private-practice caseloads develop gradually rather than overnight and are interested in establishing a long-term relationship with a growing practice.
