Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy and mental health services to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will support individuals facing a range of challenges such as trauma, developmental disabilities, co-occurring disorders, and grief. You will utilize evidence-based practices to develop personalized treatment plans, conduct assessments, and deliver therapy through in-person and telehealth modalities. Duties Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform treatment planning Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crisis situations with professionalism and urgency to ensure client safety Facilitate intake processes, treatment planning, progress documentation, and clinical notes adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical records management and ensure compliance with medical terminology and legal requirements Engage in case management activities including patient care coordination, social work interventions, and community resource linkage Apply research-based approaches such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and evidence-based practices to optimize client outcomes Conduct mental health assessments for individuals with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and PTSD care Deliver telehealth therapy sessions while maintaining high-quality patient communication and engagement standards Support clients through grief counseling, addiction counseling, chronic pain counseling, and other specialized therapeutic services Requirements Valid state licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or equivalent credential with active licensure status Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with disabilities in outpatient or inpatient settings Strong knowledge of clinical counseling techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused approaches, behavior management, social work principles, and crisis management Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, medical terminology, and medical records documentation standards Experience delivering telehealth services using secure platforms while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines Ability to perform comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical ethical guidelines Excellent communication skills for client engagement across diverse populations including pediatrics and those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Knowledge of addiction counseling techniques and experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders is preferred Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively while ensuring safety protocols are followed Commitment to ongoing professional development through research participation or clinical research activities is a plus Join us in creating a supportive environment where your expertise can truly transform lives.
