As our practice continues to grow, we are seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team as an independent contractor. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who values clinical autonomy while benefiting from the support of an established practice with a steady referral base. Position Summary The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will provide individual, couples, and/or family psychotherapy services to adolescents and adults, depending on their areas of expertise. The clinician will maintain an independent caseload while practicing under the Pauze Point Therapy brand and collaborating with the practice owner when appropriate. This position is structured as a 1099 independent contractor relationship. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive intake assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans. Provide high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Complete progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries within Practice expectations. Maintain ethical and legal standards in accordance with Florida law and professional codes of ethics. Communicate professionally with clients and referral sources as appropriate. Participate in occasional consultation meetings (not clinical supervision unless separately arranged). Maintain client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Manage scheduling and client communication through the Practice's designated systems. QualificationsRequired Active Florida LMHC license in good standing. Master's degree or higher in Counseling or a related mental health field. Professional liability insurance. Experience providing psychotherapy to adults and/or adolescents. Strong clinical documentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Experience with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, or relationship concerns. Training in CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, or other evidence-based modalities. Experience working with neurodivergent clients. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Contractor Relationship This position is an independent contractor (1099) opportunity.
The clinician will:
Maintain control over their clinical judgment and treatment approach. Maintain their own professional license and liability insurance. Be responsible for their own tax obligations.
