Consults with nurses, doctors and psychiatrists. May work with specific populations, such as youth, senior citizens or substance abusers, in group settings, facilities or hospitals.

- 60 semester hour graduate degree, the substance of which is professional mental health counseling from a regionally-accredited university. (May include but not limited to Psychological Counseling, Community Mental Health, etc.) Work Experience Required

- Two years related work experience in direct patient counseling Certifications Required
- Must hold an active, non-restricted license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) License in state of practice,Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) by the Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor (LMFT-S) Basic Life Support (BLS), and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certificaton to be obtained within 2 weeks of hire•.
- Only applies to inpatient units.
- Only applies to outpatient units. Licensure or certification as a sex therapist may be required depending on area of assignment. Preferred
- Certification in Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
