Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counseling Intern to join our team. The Counseling Intern will assist in providing therapeutic support to clients, including those dealing with grief, PTSD, and other mental health challenges. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in counseling or psychology who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling sessions under supervision, focusing on various issues including grief, PTSD, and crisis management. Assist in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Participate in treatment planning and case management meetings. Conduct intake assessments and support clients in developing coping strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Engage in motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client participation and progress. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients during therapy sessions. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance clinical skills and knowledge. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences: Familiarity with inpatient or clinic settings is preferred. Experience or coursework related to grief counseling, crisis management, child family counseling, or PTSD care is highly desirable. Knowledge of ICD-10 coding is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. A commitment to ethical practice and adherence to confidentiality standards.
