Mental Health Professional (MHP) / Mental Health Specialist (MHS) New Approaches Mental Health Services - 3.0 New Iberia, LA Job Details Contract $23 - $28 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Care documentation Bachelor's degree Multidisciplinary team collaboration for treatment planning Clinical documentation standards Full Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Mental Health Professional (MHP) / Mental Health Specialist (MHS) to provide high-quality mental health services to individuals. The ideal candidate is client-centered, culturally competent, and committed to supporting emotional well-being, recovery, and resilience through evidence-based practices. As an MHP/MHS you will provide PSR services to clients out in the community. This job does require reliable transportation. This is an independent contractor job. Key Responsibilities Deliver individual/group counseling within the community as assigned Assist with developing and implementing treatment goals in with clients Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards Monitor client progress and make adjustments as needed Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Provide crisis intervention when necessary Maintain compliance with ethical, legal, and confidentiality standards (HIPAA) Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills Reliable transportation Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Preferred Qualifications Experience providing mental health services in a clinical, community, or behavioral health setting Experience working with diverse populations or specific groups (e.g., adolescents, adults, trauma survivors, substance use, severe mental illness) Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, TFCBT, EMDR, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.) Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR systems)
