Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Outpatient Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. Duties Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and treatment plans. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes, including crisis management and behavior management techniques. Facilitate intake processes for new clients, gathering comprehensive medical records, social history, and behavioral health data while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology coordination when appropriate and documenting progress through detailed medical documentation. Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote therapy sessions, ensuring accessibility for clients with mobility or transportation challenges. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including medical professionals, case managers, educators, and social workers—to coordinate care for clients with complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, or developmental disabilities. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using ICD coding standards; ensure all patient records adhere to HIPAA regulations. Engage in clinical research or data collection initiatives to improve therapeutic outcomes and contribute to evidence-based practices within behavioral health. Qualifications Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution. Valid licensure or certification as an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), or equivalent state credential. Proven experience in outpatient mental health settings with children and adults; experience working with people with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, gender issues counseling, and trauma-informed care such as PTSD care. coding systems for diagnosis documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus. Experience providing telehealth services using secure platforms; comfortable working with electronic medical records systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly across diverse populations; adept at crisis intervention and crisis management strategies. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to behavioral health; ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams for case management purposes.
