Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and case management, to diverse populations. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake evaluations and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, applied behavior analysis, and behavioral management techniques. Provide direct support through individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, trauma recovery (including PTSD care), grief counseling, addiction counseling, gender issues counseling, and working with people with autism or developmental disabilities. Utilize crisis intervention skills to manage acute situations effectively, ensuring safety for clients and staff while coordinating with emergency responders when necessary. Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations; document patient care activities using CPT coding where applicable. Engage in clinical research and data collection efforts to improve service delivery and support continuous quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, pediatric specialists, geriatrics teams, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Facilitate intake processes for new clients by gathering relevant medical terminology information and conducting initial assessments. Participate in telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for remote clients while adhering to all regulatory standards. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as a QMHP preferred. Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults with disabilities, or geriatric populations in outpatient or inpatient settings. Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatments including psychopharmacology, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management strategies. Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance. Experience working with diverse populations including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, chronic pain conditions, or developmental disabilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct intake interviews and facilitate group therapy sessions effectively. Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently while maintaining professional boundaries.
