Description Position Overview West Bridgeway Counseling Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dedicated team. Work Environment This position allows for a flexible, remote work setting, promoting an excellent work-life balance for our staff. The regular work schedule consists of Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. As a vital member of our team, you'll collaborate with a cross-functional group of healthcare professionals, sharing insights and strategies to enhance the overall care experience for our elderly patients. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, ensuring individual care needs are accurately identified and effectively addressed. Provide tailored individual and group counseling sessions that focus on emotional challenges associated with aging, such as grief, loss, and life transitions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that incorporate mental health strategies into overall health objectives. Educate families and staff about strategies to improve emotional well-being and enhance quality of life for elderly clients. Facilitate grief and loss counseling for families dealing with end-of-life issues, offering compassionate support during difficult times. Deliver cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions that promote mental acuity and emotional resilience among elderly individuals. Patient Population / Client Focus This role primarily serves the geriatric population, addressing their unique mental health needs, including issues related to aging, transitions in life, and the accompanying psychological challenges. You will work closely with seniors facing various mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and addiction, ensuring they receive the compassionate support necessary to navigate their personal journeys. Qualifications A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution or university. Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential. A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in geriatric mental health counseling, with a proven ability to deliver impactful counseling services. Specialized training or certifications in geriatric mental health and age-related issues are highly desirable. Demonstrated experience working with elderly individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges, employing evidence-based interventions. Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills to reliably build rapport with elderly clients and their families. Empathetic demeanor and cultural sensitivity are essential to effectively support senior clients from diverse backgrounds. Proficient in conducting thorough assessments and designing personalized treatment plans that align with patients' unique needs. A strong understanding of ethical and legal standards pertaining to geriatric mental health counseling. Preferred Experience Background in addiction counseling, specifically related to the geriatric population. Familiarity with community health resources and support networks for elderly clients in the Tacoma area. Experience in utilizing telehealth platforms and digital communication tools for therapy sessions. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary ranging from
USD 65,000
to 95,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a sign-on bonus.
