Job Description

Immediate full-time position for a School Based Counselor (School Based Behavioral Health Liaisons) in Dunlap, TN. This is a position for an enthusiastic clinician who is passionate about student mental health. School Based Behavioral Health Liaisons are Masters level mental health clinicians who work on-site at selected schools to support the behavioral health of all students and to benefit students with Social Emotional Disturbance (SED) or at risk of developing mental health or substance use disorder.
School Based Behavioral Health Liaisons:
Responsibilities and Daily Duties
  • Provide training and consultation with teachers and staff,
  • Meet with students individually and in groups,
  • Liaison with families and community organizations, and
  • Help schools develop new ways to improve the social and emotional environment.
Tennessee's SBBHL program uses the Multi-Tiered System of Support model, and applies the Building Strong Brains and ACEs content in creating and implementing universal trauma informed practices in schools. School Based Behavioral Health Liaisons:
Requirements & Qualifications Must have a Master's Degree in the Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology) with some counseling experience. Prefer experience in a school setting. Must be flexible and able to adapt to school policies and schedules, able to work remotely as required.
