Job Description

The counselor will deliver direct clinical care, collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary medical and behavioral health team, and support families by addressing mental health needs alongside relevant social determinants of health. This role emphasizes accessibility, continuity of care, and long-term engagement for underserved populations. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for pediatric patients and adolescents. Provide short- and medium-term counseling services using evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including CBT, play-based interventions, parent coaching strategies, ADHD-focused approaches, trauma-informed interventions, and somatic-based interventions. Deliver services through in-person and virtual appointments, with availability during late afternoons and with some evening availability to meet after-school time needs. Integrate trauma-informed care practices; EMDR trained preferred or interest in pursuing training. Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with patients and caregivers to promote retention and reduce stigma around mental health care. Collaborate with pediatric providers, medical leadership, and administrative colleagues to coordinate care, required reporting, and general administration. Screen for social determinants of health and support families in navigating referrals to social services, community programs, and external supports. Participate in outreach, referral coordination, and community-based engagement to strengthen access to care. Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive therapy environment that aligns with Lirios Pediatrics' mission, vision, and long-term community impact goals.
