GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic aims to create a thoughtful and impactful treatment program to help children struggling mentally, behaviorally, and/or emotionally that will provide them with the tools, resources, and coping skills needed to help them work through challenging times. The Child and Adolescent Psych Clinic LPC-A will provide a wide variety of services including but not limited to: individual, family, collateral and group counseling, diagnostic evaluation, health and behavioral assessments, safety planning, cognitive behavioral therapy-including trauma focused, habit reversal therapy, and treatment for eating disorders all while under the supervision of an approved LPC-S. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic LPC-A will use proven, evidence-based methods to recognize and treat mental health illness. This role will work closely and in collaboration with the psychiatrists in the clinic to provide coordination of care for the patient. Another function of this role is to provide education on the Positive Parenting Program which will equip parents to actively play a role by providing tools and resources to help their children experiencing emotional and behavioral problems.

Will be accredited/trained to use identified evidenced-bases curriculum Provides screening, assessment, evaluation, therapeutic intervention, treatment planning, education, safety planning, and coordination of behavioral health services in the clinic setting. Provides mediation and crisis intervention services for patients and families Provides programming for the provision of individual, group, and family support / therapy with the goal of reducing maladaptive behavior and fostering effective psychological functioning. Provision of therapeutic interventions and treatment strategies to include, but not limited to, motivational interviewing, treatment engagement, crisis intervention and intensive crisis stabilization, brief and solution focused therapy, and safety planning. Plans and facilitates support groups for patients, parents, and families Engages in shared decision making and treatment planning. Upon suspicion/confirmation of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a child, elderly, or disabled person… Notifies appropriate agency (Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and/or Law Enforcement agency). Serves as a liaison and advocate with community programs and agencies related to health, mental health, and community support. Works with staff from outside agencies to ensure quality care along the continuum. Testifies in court regarding child abuse and/or neglect. Assists with counseling needs of not only the department, but the organization when needed (ex. Youth Wellness Programs, etc.)
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Master's Degree Social Work (LCSW) or Master's Degree Counseling (LPC) or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT) Two years' experience in working in mental health / behavioral health field Experience in diagnosing mental health and substance use disorders Experience providing individual, group, and family counseling
