This is an immediate and critical role where you will directly impact the mental and emotional well-being of children in DHS care who are facing extraordinary circumstances. Your Mission As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team, acting as a beacon of support for children in crisis. You will work directly in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) processing facilities, providing essential emotional support and behavioral health oversight to children in high-stress environments. Primary Resource:

Serve as the on-site facility's go-to behavioral health expert.

Proactive Well-Being Checks:

Conduct regular facility rounds to assess child well-being and identify immediate risks.

Immediate Crisis Response:

Provide real-time crisis intervention and expert de-escalation in challenging situations.

Trauma-Informed Guidance:

Offer vital guidance on emotional regulation and behavioral support tailored to the specific needs of children.

Interagency Collaboration:

Work hand-in-hand with

CBP, HHS

ORR, NGOs, and medical providers to ensure seamless, coordinated care.

Recommend improvements that promote safe, supportive, and truly child-centered care environments. Schedule & Shift Details This full-time position offers a predictable schedule that allows for consistent full-time hours and predictable time off, while ensuring 24/7 care operations:

Rotating Schedule:

A consistent 4-on/3-off and 3-on/4-off rotation. 12-

Hour Shifts:

Day Shift (8:00 AM - 8:00 PM) or Night Shift (8:00 PM - 8:00 AM). You will have rotating weekends, providing a clear work-life balance in a demanding but rewarding role. Requirements We are seeking skilled professionals who are ready to rise to the challenge. Master's or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health field. An active, unrestricted license in one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Psychologist (LP) A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience with a preference for experience in: Child development.
