Job Description

Position Summary:
Advocates for and assists individuals coping with substance abuse, including those with a co-occurring severe and persistent mental illness. To provide assessment, diagnosis/diagnostic-impressions and treatment in the form of evidence-based out-patient substance abuse treatment to identified clients, in accordance with appropriate licensing guidelines. Provides treatment within the
HHSC/TAC
approved training methodologies for Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program under the direction of the Treatment Program Director. Knows and ensures compliance and fidelity with all state and federal statutes as well as all contract and/or licensing requirements for the Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program. Participates with the treatment teams in developing appropriate treatment plans for clients being served in the program in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Texoma Community Center.
Qualifications:
Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Sociology, and/or Social Work is required. Masters preferred.

Completion of coursework for the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or other approved graduate program and actively involved in or completed Intern hours, or be a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor or Counselor Intern, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker Intern is requiredExperience working with individuals with mental illness and/ or addiction issues desirable
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
Current drivers license and a vehicle for use at work
LCDC or LCDC Intern, LPC or LPC Intern, LCSW or LCSW InternKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferredMust be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
