Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare [CIBH] serves the mental health and substance use needs of Chesapeake residents. We are currently seeking an
Outpatient:
Substance Use Disorder Licensed Clinician I [therapist] to provide individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention to a caseload of adult individuals with a wide range of mental health, substance use, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities/disorders. What You Will Do You will work in consultation with an integrated team of colleagues and other agencies and service providers such as social services, schools, physicians, or probation officers. In this role, you will provide and array of services to promote individualized, person-centered, and recovery-oriented treatment plans. You will also coordinate linkage for additional services to other care providers. Conduct comprehensive substance use and behavioral health assessments. Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans that support recovery goals and measurable outcomes. Provide individual, group, and family counseling utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities. Facilitate psycho-educational and process groups focused on relapse prevention, recovery skills, coping strategies, and wellness. Utilize evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches. Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurses, peer recovery specialists, case managers, primary care providers, and community partners. Complete crisis assessments, safety planning, and referrals to higher or lower levels of care when clinically appropriate. Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Medicaid, DBHDS, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and agency standards. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, case consultation, and quality improvement initiatives. Promote a recovery-oriented environment that emphasizes hope, dignity, self-determination, and long-term wellness. VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Requires a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field, or another degree as approved by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
Requires State of Virginia licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), Clinical Psychologist (LCP). A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist MD/DO, or a Bachelor's Prepared Registered Nurse (RN) with five years of experience may be considered in the Emergency Services Program. May consider as a marginal (under-grade) applicant a Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work applicant who is currently registered with the Board of Health Professions with the ability to obtain licensure within the probationary period. May require Pre-Screening Certification within 6 weeks of employment (12 weeks for part-time staff) for those in the Emergency Services Program. Depending on the position, it may require a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with the.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing treatment for substance use disorders in an outpatient or community behavioral health setting. Experience treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Experience facilitating therapeutic groups. Knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care and medication-assisted treatment (MAT/MOUD). Familiarity with the ASAM Criteria, stages of change, relapse prevention, and harm reduction principles. Experience with electronic health records and Medicaid documentation requirements.
