Job Summary EYPC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and highly motivated Qualified Mental Health Professional - Adult/Child (QMHP-A/QMHP-C) for Crisis Stabilization Services. Under the administrative supervision of the Program Director and clinical supervision of the Clinical Supervisor/LMHP , the QMHP provides community-based crisis stabilization and skill-building services to individuals and families experiencing acute behavioral or mental health challenges. This is a hands-on, community-based position requiring sound clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, effective crisis-management abilities, and a genuine commitment to helping individuals achieve greater stability and independence. The QMHP will provide crisis de-escalation, psychoeducation, mentoring, case management, life-skills training, family support, and assistance with implementing individualized service plans. Services may be provided in clients' homes and other community settings. Key Responsibilities Provide Crisis Stabilization Services under the administrative supervision of the Program Director and clinical supervision of the Clinical Supervisor/LMHP. Provide crisis intervention and non-violent de-escalation support to individuals and families experiencing behavioral or mental health crises. Provide psychoeducational support, mentoring, and individualized skill-building services. Assist individuals and families in implementing their Individual Service Plans (ISPs), person-centered goals, and safety plans. Teach and reinforce parenting skills, family relationship-building strategies, social skills, and anger-management techniques. Provide training in self-sufficiency, self-management, independent living, and daily life skills. Assist individuals with developing healthy coping mechanisms, decision-making skills, problem-solving abilities, and personal responsibility. Provide academic and vocational guidance, goal-setting assistance, and education regarding available community resources. Provide case management and care coordination with families, social workers, psychiatrists, schools, courts, law enforcement, and other behavioral health and human services professionals. Monitor individual behaviors, needs, progress, risks, and response to interventions. Maintain timely, accurate, confidential, and clinically appropriate documentation in accordance with EYPC, DBHDS, DMAS, HIPAA, and applicable regulatory requirements. Complete required progress notes, Individual Service Plans, quarterly documentation, person-centered goals, safety plans, care coordination documentation, and discharge documentation within established deadlines. Complete service documentation/progress notes within two (2) hours of service delivery. Participate in required face-to-face clinical supervision with an LMHP. Attend quarterly staff meetings and other required meetings and training. Complete a minimum of 20 hours of clinical training annually with EYPC . Transport individuals, when required, to appointments, hearings, school, and approved community or recreational activities. May provide supervision or guidance to interns when assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Candidates must meet applicable Virginia

requirements for Qualified Mental Health Professionals and possess the education and clinical experience required for the applicable QMHP designation. Qualified candidates may include individuals meeting one of the following educational and professional pathways: Master's degree in psychology or a related qualifying behavioral health field from an accredited college or university, with required clinical experience; or Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field such as social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, human services counseling, or another qualifying discipline, along with required clinical experience providing direct services to individuals with mental health diagnoses; or Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field that includes the required semester credits in a qualifying human services field and the required amount of clinical experience; or Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) meeting applicable requirements; or Registered Nurse licensed in Virginia with qualifying clinical experience; or Another appropriately licensed mental health professional who meets applicable Virginia requirements. Candidates should have demonstrated experience providing direct services to individuals and families experiencing significant emotional, behavioral, psychiatric, or functional challenges. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Successful candidates should demonstrate: Strong knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention and crisis de-escalation techniques. Experience working with individuals experiencing behavioral health and mental health challenges. Understanding of family dynamics and the impact of mental health conditions on individuals and families. Ability to work effectively with individuals and families experiencing high levels of stress or dysfunction. Strong assessment, problem-solving, and sound judgment skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals, families, colleagues, and community partners. Strong documentation, time-management, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Ability to respond professionally and calmly during challenging or high-risk situations. requirements for the position, including: Current or eligible Virginia registration/credentialing as the appropriate Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) classification. Completion of required DBHDS Regional Mobile Crisis training , when applicable to the assigned service. Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation. CPR certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment. Standard First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment. Training in an approved non-violent crisis intervention methodology, such as TOVA, or ability to complete required training. Working Conditions This is a community-based position and requires regular travel to individuals' homes and other community locations. Work environments may vary considerably based on the needs and circumstances of the individuals and families being served. The position may involve working with individuals experiencing acute emotional or behavioral distress. Candidates must be comfortable using approved crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques while following all organizational safety procedures. A flexible schedule is required and may include evenings, weekends, and on-call or urgent crisis-response responsibilities based on program needs. Why Join EYPC?
