We are hiring licensed mental health therapists to deliver in-person psychotherapy to patients in our partnered nursing facilities across Virginia. Your Role As a licensed mental health therapist, you will provide in-person psychotherapy to patients in skilled nursing and residential care facilities. You will see patients on-site at our Rural Retreat partner facilities, building trusting relationships and delivering the day-to-day emotional support and clinical care that residents need. You will work collaboratively with our psychiatric providers and facility staff as part of a coordinated care team. Key Responsibilities Provide in-person individual therapy to residents in partnered nursing and residential care facilities. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans. Support patients with mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, adjustment issues, grief, and cognitive-related concerns common in long-term care. Utilize evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and supportive therapy. Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, facility staff, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR system. Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options. Follow ethical guidelines and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ideal Candidates Actively licensed in Virginia as one of the following: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Licensed Psychologist. 1+ years of post-license clinical experience in behavioral health. Willing and able to provide in-person care on-site at facility locations in Rural Retreat and surrounding communities—this is not a telehealth role. Comfortable working in facility-based settings (SNFs, assisted living, residential programs), including with older adults and long-term care populations. Strong diagnostic and clinical evaluation skills. Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment approaches. Experience with electronic health records (EHR). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—someone patients feel comfortable opening up to. Job Type & Compensation Full-time or part-time positions available.
