Job Description

Pathways To Better Life, LLC is seeking both a Substance Abuse Counselor AND a Mental Health Counselor to work with adults and adolescents (age 14-17) that are suffering with the disease of addiction in a residential setting. Winning candidates will work as part of a multidisciplinary service team, providing assistance and support to our residents as they begin their recovery. Confidentiality and reliability is a must. Candidate needs active listening and positive communication skills. Pathways provides treatment at all levels of care, starting with Detoxification, Residential, Adult Day Treatment, Outpatient, as well as Sober Living. Job duties include, but are not limited to pre-screen eligibility, clinical intake assessments and treatment planning, group therapy, case management, and aftercare planning. Leading group therapy on Saturday to educate residents and their families; must be willing to work approximately one Saturday a month. Facilitate family and 1:1 counseling sessions. Must communicate with the treatment team and attend weekly staff meetings, document progress notes and maintain accurate case files as required by agency policy, government regulations, and applicable local, state, and federal codes. Communicate with insurance companies and other agencies as needed. Make referrals to programs for instruction on life skills, livelihood skills and workplace readiness skills necessary for successful reintegration into family life, work force and the community. Candidates must either hold a State of Wisconsin Substance Abuse Counselor certification or Substance Abuse Specialty designation (SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC) or a State of Wisconsin Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), or Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). Those with 3+ years experience preferred, although those In Training are encouraged to apply. Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Full-time is approximately 40-45 hours/week. Must facilitate approximately one Saturday family group per month. Pathways residential facilities are located in Kiel and Waldo WI. Saturday family groups are held in Kiel.
