Job Description

PSIMED Corrections, LLC, a leading behavioral health provider, is seeking a full-time Therapist to provide behavioral health services for a diverse caseload of youth offenders at the Tri-County Youth Reporting Center and juvenile drug courts. Job Requirements Provide direct case management and consultation services. Collaborate and work effectively with other PSIMED staff, WVDCR personnel, medical personnel, education personnel, residents and outside support agencies. Provide educational group and individual services to residents with the goals of reducing maladaptive behavior and fostering effective, pro-social functioning. Coordinate, develop and implement behavioral management plans for residents deemed in need of such intervention. Provide crisis intervention services to residents as referred by the WVDCR staff, medical staff or resident self-referral. Crisis intervention is required when a resident demonstrates self-violence, suicidal behavior, psychotic behavior or psychological distress. Education Requires a Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related behavioral science field from an accredited college or university OR currently completing final semester at an accredited institution obtaining a Master's in psychology, social work, counseling or a related behavioral science field. License Requires a current license or be license eligible with temporary or supervision status with the respective licensing board. Experience Must have professional experience which demonstrates knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of major mental disorders. Mental health experience working with children, adolescents and families is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with others. Ability to deal calmly and appropriately with stressful situations. Maintain professionalism with clients and teammates. Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in accordance with PSIMED Corrections and WVDCR policies, procedures and practices. Proficient computer skills including Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
