Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Professional Behavioral Health Counselor and make a meaningful impact on individuals' mental health and well-being. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based counseling services to diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will support clients through various challenges such as trauma, behavioral disorders, developmental disabilities, substance abuse and co-occurring conditions. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine appropriate treatment plans. Deliver individual, group, family, and crisis intervention therapy utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement motivational interviewing techniques to motivate behavioral change and enhance treatment engagement. Provide specialized counseling for children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and those requiring special education support. Manage clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards, ensuring accurate records of patient care and progress. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive case management strategies for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex mental health needs. Facilitate telehealth therapy sessions utilizing secure platforms to expand access to mental health services across diverse settings. Requirements Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field from an accredited institution. Proven experience in psychotherapy, crisis management, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and behavioral therapy techniques. Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for diagnostic purposes and CPT coding for billing procedures. Experience working with adolescents, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities including autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of clinical ethical guidelines, medical terminology, mental health assessment tools, and evidence-based practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations in outpatient or inpatient settings. Telehealth experience preferred; ability to adapt to virtual platforms while maintaining clinical standards. Join us in providing impactful mental health care that transforms lives!
