MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education :
BA from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Sociology, Social Welfare, Human Services or other Behavioral Sciences.
Experience:
One year of full-time experience performing client direct services in either a social service, health care, or mental health agency/organization, or preferably working with UC's- Unaccompanied Minors.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under direct supervision from the Lead Clinician, Behavior Specialist, provides mental health, such as general counseling, case management, and therapeutic behavior services. Perform other work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1
) Interview individuals and/or families to team with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups. 2) Counsel individuals and/or groups to develop social adjustment skills and to increase consumer resolution of identified problems. 3) Visit service recipients, individually or as part of a team, in a variety of living situations to help assess the mental health needs of individuals and families and/or provide behavioral coaching for children and parents. Gather data from individual/family interviews, past records, other information, to gain understanding and verification of previous disorders and treatment episodes. 4) May act as a liaison between ___and other agencies, department, organizations, and community groups. 5) Schedule or assist in the scheduling of needed transportation for consumer services. 6) Maintains records and writes reports and summaries for service recipient records or other documentation. 7) Serves as a back-up to be a fly-escort to fly-out when minors are being released to their sponsors.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT
Must do and pass a Pre-Employment Physical and TB Test. Must pass a background check. Must be able to pass a Federal Background check-Suitability Must have a valid California Driver License. Must have a BA Degree.
