Inc., we provide a safe, structured, and empowering residential treatment environment for youth ages 12-17 across our REFUGE Sunset (Fair Oaks) and REFUGE Walnut (Carmichael) homes. As an Enhanced Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (E-STRTP), our mission is to deliver Restoration, Empowerment, Family, Understanding, Growth, and Encouragement through trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.

YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Clinician (Therapist) to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based psychotherapy and clinical support to the youth in our care, ages 12-17, helping them navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. You'll conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions through individual, group, and family modalities — collaborating closely with families and a multidisciplinary team, and guiding each youth's clinical transition process to ensure compliance with E-STRTP standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide individual, group, and family therapy using trauma-informed approaches, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as CBT, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy Complete psychosocial assessments and develop personalized treatment plans; serve as the youth's clinician through their 30-day admission transition Collaborate with families, case managers, and direct care staff for holistic care Facilitate Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings Apply crisis intervention techniques to support youth safety during acute episodes Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including EHR records, in compliance with E-STRTP licensing, Title 22 regulations, and HIPAA Refer youth to outside providers for substance use treatment needs (REFUGE clinicians do not provide direct SUD treatment) Share clinical notes externally only with an appropriate release on file Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), or a related field from an accredited institution

Required:

Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

Experience:

2+ years working with youth in residential or mental health settings preferred Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural humility Proficiency in clinical techniques such as motivational interviewing, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral management strategies Comfortable with EHR/EMR documentation and HIPAA-compliant recordkeeping Excellent communication and documentation skills Comfortable working within a fully hands-off care model (no manual restraint or physical intervention)

From $43.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 45.0 per week Application Question(s): Are you currently registered or licensed with the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an ASW, LCSW, AMFT, LMFT, APCC or LPCC? This position requires working in person in our Fair Oaks or Carmichael location, are you able to reliably commute to one of these sites? This role requires clearing DOJ/FBI Live Scan background check and Community Care Licensing (CCL) clearance as a condition of employment, are you willing to complete this process?
