Job Description

Family Intensive Treatment Team (FITT) Peer Support Specialist FITT Peer Support Specialist provides peer coaching & support service to help parents who are at risk of or have had their child(ren) removed due to their substance misuse. They work together as a team with a therapist & case manager to promote the parent's recovery and assist them in working toward their dependency case plan goals for reunification or to maintain their child(ren) in home. FITT Peers use their lived experience & skills learned to help others achieve & maintain recovery and wellness from substance use while also improving their parenting skills or caregiver protective capacities. HS diploma or GED required and MUST have personal lived experience as either: an adult in recovery for a minimum of 2 years from a mental health and/or substance use condition or a family member or caregiver to another person who is living with a mental health and/or substance use condition. #LP123

Experience:
personal mental health/substance abuse: 2 years (Required) working with youth & families: 1 year (Required)
