Job Description
Introduction The Mental Health Professional III works with a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of emergency room and psychiatry providers to provide high quality, patient-centered care. As an independently licensed professional, this role performs psychiatric assessments and first evaluations for involuntary commitment (IVC) both in-person and via telehealth. Once the patient is evaluated, the Mental Health Professional III collaborates with emergency room physicians and psychiatrists to make level of care determinations, and coordinates treatment/discharge plans. Professionals in this role also serve as a resource to the broader care team by assisting with de-escalation in crisis situations, guiding them through the IVC process, and providing information about inpatient hospitalization and community resources.
