Job Description

Job Overview Our inpatient geriatric psychiatric facility is seeking a compassionate and motivated Therapist (LSW, LCSW, LICSW, LCDC) to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team in Ohio. This position plays a vital role in supporting adult and geriatric psychiatric patients through psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, therapeutic interventions, family collaboration, and treatment coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience working in behavioral health, inpatient psychiatric care, or healthcare settings and possess a strong understanding of the unique needs of the geriatric population.
Schedule :
Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, occasional weekend availability needed for psychosocial assessments Responsibilities Complete psychosocial assessments and treatment planning within required timeframes Facilitate therapeutic groups, psychoeducational sessions, and family meetings Provide direct support and therapeutic interventions to adult and geriatric psychiatric patients Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary treatment team Assist with discharge planning, aftercare coordination, and community referrals Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with facility standards Monitor patient progress and participate in treatment team meetings Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts when necessary Maintain professional boundaries and therapeutic rapport with patients and families Ensure compliance with all facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and behavioral health documentation standards Qualifications Active license in the State of Ohio required Master's degree in Social Work or related Human Services field required Minimum of 2 years of relevant behavioral health or healthcare experience preferred Experience working with geriatric and adult psychiatric populations strongly preferred Knowledge of discharge planning, community resources, and behavioral health treatment practices Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment environment Preferred Experience Inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health experience Geriatric mental health experience Group facilitation and crisis intervention experience Familiarity with psychosocial assessments and treatment planning Physical & Work Environment Facility-based inpatient behavioral health setting May require managing challenging or emotionally escalated patient situations Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform computer documentation throughout shifts Flexible scheduling may be required based on patient care needs
