Full-Time Long term contract, can convert to a full time county employee Pay rate: $30/hr Position Overview Cogent Infotech/CWS Health is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to support behavioral health services in a correctional healthcare setting in Pittsburgh, PA. The Mental Health Specialist works with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide mental health assessments, crisis intervention, case management, discharge planning, psychoeducation, and other behavioral health services. Responsibilities Conduct mental health screenings, assessments, and risk assessments. Provide individual and group psychoeducation. Support crisis intervention and behavioral health treatment planning. Coordinate case management and discharge planning. Refer patients to appropriate behavioral health or community services. Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and interdisciplinary treatment teams. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Participate in treatment planning and departmental meetings. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and patient confidentiality. Follow applicable facility procedures and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Candidates must meet the following education and experience requirements: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. At least 1 year of experience in a health or human services setting. At least 1 year of individual and/or group counseling experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered. Additional Requirements Current CPR/BLS certification required prior to appointment. Ability to perform crisis intervention and work effectively with individuals experiencing behavioral or mental health concerns. Strong communication, documentation, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. Must be comfortable working onsite in a correctional healthcare environment. Preferred Experience Previous experience in a correctional, behavioral health, mental health, or similar healthcare environment is preferred but not required. Pre-Employment Requirements Candidates selected for the position must successfully complete applicable pre-employment screening and clearance requirements associated with working in a correctional healthcare environment.
