Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 20 hours per week Occasional weekend hours may be available from time to time.

About the family:

A warm Alameda family with busy parents is looking for a caring, dependable family assistant to provide wonderful afternoon and early evening care for their four-year-old child while helping keep the household running smoothly. The child is in school until 5:00 p.m., so household support happens before pick-up. This is a great opportunity for someone who brings genuine affection, thoughtful engagement, and a calm, reassuring presence to each day.

Key responsibilities:

Simple meal preparation Errands & tidying of the home Pick up the child from school (5:00PM) Walk with the child or drive approximately five minutes from school to the family's home. Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate, play-based care. Prepare nourishing light meals and snacks. Create a calm, consistent, and nurturing afternoon and evening routine. Keep the child's areas tidy, organized, and welcoming.

Ideal candidate:

Warm, emotionally attuned, and dependable. Genuinely enjoys caring for preschool-aged children. Comfortable preparing simple, wholesome meals. Reliable and committed to a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional weekend availability. Comfortable walking with or safely transporting a child for a brief commute.

Requirements:

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Family assistant or nanny experience. Demonstrated experience caring for young children. Strong preschool experience. CPR/First Aid certification. Excellent professional references. Up-to-date on all required vaccinations. Valid driver's license, reliable car, current auto insurance, and clean driving record; comfortable driving children safely. Ability to pass a criminal background check through TrustLine.
