A warm, professional, and active San Jose family is seeking an experienced, engaging, and proactive Nanny/Family Assistant to become a trusted, long-term extension of their household. The family has two young children—an infant and a five-year-old—and is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys caring for children while also helping the household remain organized and running smoothly. The ideal candidate is nurturing, dependable, punctual, and highly engaging, with a naturally playful spirit and genuine enthusiasm for imaginative and interactive play, an excellent fit for a career nanny who enjoys balancing exceptional childcare with family assistant responsibilities while confidently attending to the needs of the infant. W-2 Employee Primary Responsibilities Childcare Safely pick up and transport the children from school and daycare Provide attentive, nurturing care while confidently balancing the needs of both an infant and a five-year-old. Plan and facilitate a variety of engaging activities, including imaginative play, reading, arts, crafts, games, and both indoor and outdoor play. Prepare children's snacks and simple meals Assist with the children's daily routines
Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment Family Assistant Responsibilities Complete family laundry, including washing, folding, and putting items away Reset the kitchen and load or unload the dishwasher Assist with light meal preparation Complete occasional grocery pickups and household errands Organize toys, children's belongings, and frequently used household spaces Maintain general tidiness throughout the home Help prepare the household for the following day
Support the family in maintaining a calm and organized home environment A professional housekeeper services the home weekly. Deep cleaning is not part of this position. Ideal Candidate The family is seeking someone who is: An experienced, career-minded nanny Exceptionally punctual, reliable, and dependable Warm, nurturing, energetic, and highly engaging Creative and enthusiastic about imaginative play Organized, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative Experienced in caring for an infant and a preschool-aged child simultaneously Flexible and adaptable when occasional schedule changes arise Safety-conscious and confident transporting children A clear and professional communicator Comfortable collaborating with involved parents
Interested in establishing a long-term relationship with the family Requirements Minimum of three years of professional nanny experience; five or more years preferred Professional experience caring for infants and preschool-aged children Reliable personal vehicle Valid driver's license and excellent driving record Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to renew before starting Up-to-date immunizations, including any immunizations requested by the family (Negative TB Test, Covid Vaccination, Flu Vaccine, TDAP, MMR) Authorization to work legally in the United States Excellent professional references Ability to complete a comprehensive background and driving-record check Non-smoker This family values kindness, open communication, flexibility, reliability, and professionalism, seeking someone who will become a trusted, valued part of the household while making everyday family life more manageable.
