  • Valencia, CA The Cradle Company Valencia, CA Job Details Full-time Up to $40 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Qualifications CPR Certification Pre-cooking preparation Active listening Attention to detail Food preparation Meal assistance Full Job Description A loving family in Valencia, CA (91354) is seeking a gentle and compassionate Nanny to provide flexible part-time, long term care for their 19-year-old daughter with FBXO11-related syndrome, beginning as soon as possible .
Schedule:
Monday
  • Friday, 2/3pm
  • 6/7pm, & Wednesday mornings from 8am
  • 10:30am.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Pick up the daughter from school and provide safe transportation to appointments, social events, and recreational activities. Serve as an engaging companion by planning enriching outings such as sporting events, concerts, museums, and other community activities to encourage an active, screen-free lifestyle. Provide attentive, one-on-one support through meaningful conversation, companionship, and interactive activities tailored to the daughter's interests. Support communication and social development by exercising patience, active listening, and close attention to the daughter's individual communication needs. Maintain open communication with the family regarding schedules, activities, and the daughter's daily well-being. Foster a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment that recognizes the daughter's strengths, respects her individual needs, and promotes continued growth and independence. Assist with grocery shopping and other household errands as needed. Complete light meal preparation to support the family's daily routine, including prepping ingredients or simple meals for mom to finish cooking. The ideal candidate is kind, with a calm, patient demeanor and a structured approach to caregiving. They have experience with autism or other special needs and understand the importance of tailoring care to each person's unique developmental, communication, and emotional needs. Excellent listening skills and close attention to detail are essential, particularly in supporting the daughter's speech and communication following multiple oral and palate surgeries. The ideal candidate is also mindful of the family's nutritional guidelines, understanding the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries around food following years of feeding therapy. Someone comfortable with dogs, as the family has a labradoddle in the home. Note from the
Family:
Our daughter has FBXO11-related syndrome , a rare genetic condition with fewer than 100 documented cases worldwide. While some of her sensory and auditory processing challenges can resemble those experienced by individuals with autism, every day is unique. She is incredibly bright in many areas but has cognitive limitations in others, so we are looking for someone who is patient, observant, and able to strike the right balance between offering support and encouraging independence. She is sensitive to loud noises and clapping, so maintaining a calm environment is important. Above all, she is a sweet, gentle, with a wonderful personality.
Compensation:
$30
