Job Description
We're looking to hire a kind, dependable, and engaging tutor to help care for our three children: a 1st grader, kindergartener, and preschooler: Wednesday-Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM . We're hoping to find someone who is patient, responsible, positive, and genuinely enjoys working with young children. Ideally, this would be someone who can make learning fun while also helping keep our evening routine organized and running smoothly. Responsibilities Help our 1st grader with homework, reading, spelling, basic math, and other school assignments. Work with our kindergartener on early reading skills, sight words, letter sounds, handwriting, numbers, and basic math. Engage our preschooler in age-appropriate educational activities such as letters, numbers, colors, shapes, puzzles, books, crafts, and creative play. Read with the children and encourage a positive attitude toward learning. Plan simple, fun activities that keep the kids engaged and off screens. Help prepare backpacks, schoolwork, clothes, or other items needed for the following day. Assist with the evening and bedtime routine, including pajamas, brushing teeth, and getting the kids settled. Help with light housekeeping related to the children, such as tidying toys, cleaning up after activities/meals, organizing play areas, and keeping common areas neat. Qualifications Experience caring for or working with young children, preferably preschool through early elementary ages. Comfortable helping with kindergarten and 1st-grade-level academics . Patient, nurturing, dependable, and able to confidently manage three young children. Energetic and creative with activities, games, crafts, and learning. Strong communication skills and reliable attendance. Able to provide a safe, structured, and positive environment. Prior babysitting, nannying, tutoring, teaching, childcare, or early childhood education experience is a plus. College students studying education, child development, psychology, speech therapy, or a related field are encouraged to apply. More than anything, we're looking for an amazing person we can trust and welcome as part of our family someone who will build a great relationship with our kids and hopefully stay with us long-term.
