Summary:
The purpose of the Early Head Start Childcare Center Supervisor is to oversee the daily operation and staff compliance in a childcare center offering Early Head Start, Head Start, and related services. Additionally, the Site lead will maintain the assigned location according to STARS and PA childcare licensing requirements. Essential Job Responsibilities Responsible for the immediate supervision of assigned staff relative to CCIU, Office of Head Start, and PA childcare licensing policies and procedures
Develop positive relationships with families enrolled in the program, assisting with family needs and addressing any family concerns that arise
Supervise and evaluate education staff with regard to educational and administrative planning including provision of feedback that leads to positive change in performance
Utilize research based tools, including CLASS, ECERS, ITERS, and TPOT, to provide specific and targeted feedback to the employee
Oversee daily dismissal of students, ensuring safe processes are maintained, staff and parents follow procedures, and students are properly supervised
Ensure assigned site runs effectively.
Complete quarterly health and safety screener with the Health Specialist
Immediately communicate any concerns or needs relative to the location with Supervisor of Head Start
Interact with STARS specialist during site visits
Make recommendations, plan for, and ensure delivery of professional development as required by licensing, STARS, and Office of Head Start
Lead monthly site based staff meetings, creating an agenda and maintaining attendance
Recommend purchases of equipment, supplies, and materials for center based on classroom needs identified by ECERS, ITERS, curriculum, safety reviews, and observations
Coordinate classroom coverage and staff schedules to ensure proper ratio is maintained at all times
Promote family engagement in the Head Start program
Introduce families to the site, providing tours and program information to prospective participants
Coordinate appointments for families with Family Service Workers to ensure complete enrollment at all times
Work in conjunction with the Family Service Worker to ensure all parties have appropriate family and student information
Provide individualized resources and strategies to promote School Readiness
Maintain accurate records and files to support annual Program Information Report (PIR)
All contacts with families must be recorded
Student attendance and meal service must be monitored at point of service and input into Student Tracking System daily
Ensure all required screenings are up to date and in child's file
Ensure that all assessments and parent-teacher conference forms are in child's file
Utilize human resources effectively
Plan effectively so that all adults in classroom are actively participating with students
Train all new adults, whether staff or volunteers, regarding classroom schedule, routines, and Head Start requirements
Ensure that students from local education entities are provided opportunities to fulfill course requirements
Maintain confidentiality of all student and family information, adhering to CCIU standards
Qualifications:
Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Education or closely related field required
Early Childhood Education strongly preferred
Bilingual/Bicultural preferred Professional or Other Required Clearances PA Director's Credential within one year required
Current police, child abuse, NSOR, and FBI fingerprint- DHS clearances within 1 year required
Anticipated Salary Range:
Project, HS3, $74,443.20/yr. - $91,894.40/yr. • Placement on band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role.
