This is a long-term, live-out position for someone who enjoys both childcare and household support and can confidently work independently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and naturally anticipates what a family needs without waiting to be given a detailed task list. The child is almost 11 years old and enjoys music, arts and crafts, soccer, climbing, baking, and spending quality time with her caregiver. The Family Assistant will help keep the household and family schedule running smoothly while providing thoughtful, engaging care. Responsibilities Provide attentive, engaging care for one school-aged child. Pick up child from school and provide transportation to activities such as soccer and climbing. Assist with homework, school responsibilities, and age-appropriate independence. Engage the child in activities such as baking, crafts, music, and other interests. Support the child's emotional development with patience, empathy, and awareness. Schedule appointments and help manage the family's calendar. Research and coordinate camps, activities, school supplies, and other family needs. Assist with meal planning and weekly meal/dinner preparation alongside Mom. Maintain the household between professional housekeeping visits, including dishes, garbage/recycling, linens, laundry, and general tidying. Proactively identify and take care of household and family needs without requiring constant direction. Communicate and collaborate effectively with Mom while working independently. Provide occasional weekend day or overnight support from November through March as needed. Requirements Minimum of 2-3+ years of professional experience working with school-aged children. Previous Family Assistant experience strongly preferred, with a strong Family Assistant reference. Strong professional and personal references. Proactive, organized, self-directed, dependable, and detail-oriented. Warm, loving, patient, and emotionally aware approach to childcare. Strong understanding of child development; college experience or coursework in child development is a plus. Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance. Must be 18+ years old and a high school graduate; a 2-4 year degree is preferred. Authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction.
