Job Description
Part-Time Special Needs Nanny - Denver, CO 80121 $29-$35/hour | 20 guaranteed hours/week | Monday-Friday, approximately 1:00-5:00 PM | Start ASAP Neuronanny is seeking an experienced special needs nanny or childcare professional for a long-term placement with a family supporting two children, ages 4 and 7. One child has ADHD and may experience emotional dysregulation, difficulty with transitions, and occasional physical outbursts. We are seeking someone who is calm, patient, safety-minded, and confident managing challenging behaviors and supporting emotional regulation. Schedule & Benefits Monday-Friday, approximately 1:00-5:00 PM 20 guaranteed hours/week Start ASAP; flexibility for the right candidate Minimum one-year commitment $29-$35/hour, based on experience $50/month healthcare stipend $25/month gas stipend $500 annual education fund Paid sick leave in accordance with Colorado law Required Qualifications 3+ years of combined professional experience working with children, including at least 2 years directly supporting children with special needs, neurodivergence, developmental differences, or behavioral needs Relevant certification, credential, degree, or specialized training in ABA, special education, behavioral support, child development, or a comparable field Direct experience safely supporting physical outbursts, challenging behaviors, and emotional dysregulation Ability to remain calm, maintain safety and boundaries, and effectively de-escalate challenging situations Comfortable around large, energetic dogs and puppies Valid driver's license and clean driving record required Comfortable transporting children CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain 2-3 professional references available within 48 hours of request Successful background check required Relevant Experience We welcome RBT/ABA professionals, special education teachers or paraprofessionals, behavioral support professionals, developmental specialists, therapeutic childcare professionals, specialized nannies, and candidates with comparable experience. Relevant experience may be combined across roles. For example, 1.5 years of nanny experience plus 1.5 years of RBT experience may be considered when the candidate otherwise meets the qualifications. Responsibilities After-school pickup and supervision Support routines, transitions, homework, and emotional regulation Reinforce established behavioral strategies and positive expectations Safely respond to and de-escalate behavioral incidents Transport children to occasional activities Prepare simple meals/snacks Assist with light child-related tasks Hiring Process Candidates who advance will participate in a Neuronanny interview and may be asked to complete a brief intake form, provide references, complete a background check, and participate in a family interview. This role requires genuine comfort with occasional physical outbursts, large energetic dogs, and driving responsibilities.
