Ages of Children :
3 month old and 2 year old. Position Summary This family is seeking a warm, engaging, and highly experienced career nanny to care for their infant and toddler. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children and take pride in being a long-term, trusted member of the family. The nanny will provide full childcare for both children, including supporting developmental milestones, creating engaging daily routines, planning activities and classes, and getting out into the community. The toddler may soon begin a half-day program, and the nanny will help coordinate the children's schedules and activities around this transition. The family is raising their children fully bilingual in English and German, with an emphasis on strong spoken and written language skills. They place a high value on reading, early literacy, grammar, conversation, and building the children's vocabulary through frequent, meaningful interaction. The nanny should naturally talk with the children throughout the day, encourage their curiosity, and foster a positive "you can do it" attitude. All the giggles are welcome in this home. Both children are healthy and happy. The toddler is social, loves people, and especially enjoys music and music classes. The family enjoys an active, enriching lifestyle and would love a nanny who will take initiative in planning outings, arranging classes and activities, and making the most of their walkable neighborhood or driving to activities. The family's parenting philosophy centers around kindness, curiosity, common sense, and a love of learning. They want their children to be read to frequently and encouraged to explore the world around them. Their ideal nanny will be naturally playful and engaged, someone who enjoys reading, singing, dancing, playing, and genuinely connecting with the children. Organization and initiative are also important. The nanny should be intuitive within the home, keep childcare-related areas and schedules organized, anticipate the children's needs, and reliably follow through without needing to be micromanaged. Strong communication with the parents is essential, as both parents work extensively and want to feel connected to their children's daily lives and development. Regular updates and photos are much appreciated. The ideal candidate will have strong English communication skills, extensive infant and toddler experience, experience with potty training and developmental milestones, excellent reliability and punctuality, and a genuine love for being a nanny. Above all, the family is looking for someone who is truly passionate and curious about the work they do and who sees nannying as a career, not simply a job. They are excited to find someone who will become a trusted, long-term part of their family and partner with them in raising happy, kind, curious, and capable children.
Pets :
No pets are in the home.
Requirements :
Have a thorough understanding of childhood milestones and know the basic requirements of a professional nanny including food safety, general hygiene, age-appropriate activities, first-aid/safety/emergency procedures. Valid driver's license. Minimum 3 years professional childcare experience. US work authorization. High School Diploma or equivalent. German-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, while also welcoming exceptional candidates with strong English communication skills.
Relocation Assistance:
The family is open to all nannies who are qualified and interested in this position, but will prioritize a nanny who is fully fluent in German, both spoken and written, to play an active role in raising their children bilingually. They are willing to offer a competitive compensation package for the right candidate. The family is open to relocating an exceptional German-speaking nanny from anywhere in the United States. Exceptional local candidates, who do not speak German, will also be considered and are encouraged to apply. Please note that the position details reflect the employer's stated expectations and may evolve as part of the interview and offer process.
