School Location:
239 Cocoanut Row Palm Beach, FL 33480 The Afterschool Activity Leader is responsible for coming up with activities for groups, covering groups of students when needed, at as Director in the Director's absence, attend trainings regularly, and be a support for Afterschool Counselors.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Completion of one (1) of the following qualifiers: a) 120-hour School-Age Certification Course and 15 semester hours of college credit in educational, social and/or humanitarian related studies b) Child Development Associate (CDA) and 15 semester hours of college credit in educational, social and/or humanitarian related studies c) Early Childhood Professional (ECP) and 15 semester hours of college credit in educational, social and/or humanitarian related studies d) Certified Afterschool Educator and 15 semester hours of college credit in educational, social and/or humanitarian related studies e) Florida Child Care Professional (FCCPC) and 15 semester hours of college credit in educational, social and/or humanitarian related studies f) Thirty (30) semester hours of college credit of which 15 semester hours of college credit are in educational, social and/or humanitarian related studies g) Associate's degree h) Bachelor's degree i) Certified Teacher 2. Minimum one (1) year documented experience working with children. 3. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with students and school staff. 4. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
1. Provides direct supervision of students. 2. Plans and implements Afterschool programs and activities. 3. Oversees counselors and groups, modeling good practices for staff. 4. Enforces Afterschool program discipline codes. 5. Ensures the safety and security of students (to include, but not limited to, unauthorized visitation, authorized release of students, and accident reports). 6. Maintains accurate attendance records. 7. Maintains professionalism regarding school affairs.
