Job Description

A warm, private family in Sarasota, Florida is seeking a full-time homeschool educator for their 8-year-old. This role combines personalized education with the hands-on support of a trusted caregiver. The family is looking for someone joyful, flexible, and adventurous who can guide academics, manage the child's day, and become a long-term part of his life. About the Role The role is focused on the family's 8-year-old, who is homeschooled using Singapore Math and a flexible, child-led approach influenced by Montessori philosophy. The educator will oversee his school day, provide attentive supervision, and drive him to co-op, extracurricular activities, and educational outings. The family schools year-round. During time spent at the family's second home, the educator may either continue instruction virtually or choose to travel with the family by mutual agreement. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the 8-year-old's homeschool program, including Singapore Math Use Montessori-inspired, hands-on, and interest-led learning approaches Create engaging lessons, projects, outings, and real-world learning experiences Manage lesson planning, educational materials, the child's schedule, and progress tracking Drive and accompany the child to co-op, extracurricular activities, and educational outings Turn travel, nature, and everyday experiences into meaningful learning opportunities Continue the homeschool program virtually during part of the summer when the family is away Ideal Candidate Experienced homeschool teacher, private educator, or classroom teacher Warm, nurturing, playful, and comfortable with the hands-on, nanny-like aspects of supporting a school-aged child Familiar with Singapore Math and Montessori principles, or eager and able to learn Adventurous, flexible, creative, and excited by travel and experiential learning Must love children and be very comfortable around animals Second-language fluency is a major plus, particularly
Spanish or Portuguese Position Details Location:
Sarasota, Florida Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday, generally 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with flexibility during travel.
Time Off:
Two weeks of PTO plus one month off during the summer
Compensation:
Starting at $70,000 annually, based on experience and travel flexibility, plus a monthly health insurance stipend.
