Job Description

Professional Split-Shift Nanny Needed Jovie Nannies of Greater Kansas City Location:
Lansing, Kansas Schedule:
Monday through Friday, Split Shift (7:00 AM
  • 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM
  • 4:00 PM) Jovie Nannies of Greater Kansas City is seeking a patient, structured, and collaborative professional nanny for a local family with three children. This position features a predictable, consistent midday split-shift structure. The family is fully comfortable with the caregiver staying on-site to relax, study, or rest inside the home during the clocked-out midday block (10:00 AM
  • 12:00 PM).

Indoor Playground Membership:
The family maintains a monthly membership to a local indoor play space. You will be added to the account as the primary adult for afternoon outings, which includes a free daily beverage for the caregiver. Daily Schedule 7:00 AM
  • 10:00
AM:
Arrive for the morning routine. Supervise the older children walking to the neighborhood bus stop (adult supervision required at the stop), and drive the youngest child to morning preschool. 10:00 AM
  • 12:00
PM:
Midday break (clocked out). Caregiver may remain at the home or leave. 12:00 PM
  • 4:00
PM:
Pick up the youngest child from preschool for lunch, followed by afternoon activities, backyard play, or an outing to the indoor playground. Meet the afternoon school bus at 3:45 PM, and conclude the shift at 4:00 PM. What Relevant Experience Looks Like The perfect candidate will bring specific professional background and child development experience that aligns with this household's unique dynamics: Experience with Neurodivergence (ADHD & ODD): Proven experience managing oppositional tendencies and attention deficits with a calm, collaborative approach.
Supporting Gifted & High-Intellect Profiles:
Experience working with exceptionally bright children who thrive on physical and cognitive challenges. You excel at keeping highly intelligent children engaged to prevent boredom-induced acting out.
Encouraging Toddler Independence:
You understand the value of letting a 3-year-old complete tasks independently (like dressing and putting on shoes), even if it takes a bit longer.
Navigating Early Childhood Development:
Solid experience supporting active potty-training routines and maintaining strict consistency with dietary restrictions, such as managing a lactose-sensitive menu.
Household Support:
Comfort assisting with light daily organization, including managing the younger children's laundry, loading the dishwasher, and keeping the main living/play areas generally tidy. Jovie's General Hiring Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and a reliable, insured vehicle. Minimum of 2 years of professional, verifiable childcare experience. Must pass a comprehensive background check and possess (or be willing to obtain) CPR/First Aid certification. Must be comfortable in a home with cats. 🎵 Bonus "Nice-to-Have"
Musically Inclined:
While not a hard requirement, a nanny who has a background in, or appreciation for, music and instruments would be a fantastic, natural fit for this creative household!
