GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Child Development Center Program Director, Site Lead and Classroom Teachers, the Classroom Aide is responsible for meeting the developmental needs of children birth to five years of age in a group setting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to encouraging and participating in daily activities with children in the classroom; supervision of children, assisting in the classrooms routines and providing breaks to classroom teachers, following lesson plans and class schedule as directed by the classroom teachers, aiding in managing child behaviors; maintaining positive relationships and professional communications with children, families and coworkers. Other duties include preparation of activities and materials, cleaning of classroom and equipment, and other duties assigned by the lead teacher, Site Lead or Program Director. This is a seasonal position based on the USD259 school year calendar
