Floating Childcare Center Director Early Learning Childcare is hiring an experienced Floating Childcare Center Director to join our leadership team! Are you an experienced childcare leader who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and supporting different teams? We are looking for a dependable, flexible, and confident Floating Director who can step into our childcare centers and provide strong leadership and operational support wherever needed. Unlike a traditional Center Director assigned to one location, our Floating Director will work across multiple Early Learning Childcare locations , providing coverage, leadership, training, and hands-on support based on the needs of our centers. This position is ideal for someone who is highly adaptable, organized, confident in their leadership abilities, and comfortable walking into different environments and quickly identifying what needs to be done. What You'll Do As a Floating Director, responsibilities may vary from day to day and center to center and may include: Provide Director coverage when a Center Director is absent, on leave, or when a position is vacant Support Center Directors with daily operations and special projects Lead, supervise, support, and hold staff accountable Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and developing employees Support staff scheduling and ensure appropriate classroom coverage and ratios Monitor classroom quality, staff performance, and center operations Help centers maintain compliance with Kentucky childcare licensing requirements and company policies Assist with licensing visits, inspections, documentation, and corrective action when needed Support enrollment inquiries, tours, follow-ups, and new family enrollment Build positive and professional relationships with families and employees Address parent and staff questions or concerns professionally Review and maintain required child, staff, licensing, and center documentation Support CACFP, Health Department, and other applicable program requirements Help maintain clean, organized, safe, and welcoming center environments Assist with employee coaching, performance concerns, and documentation Identify areas where a center needs additional support and work with leadership to implement improvements Communicate regularly with company leadership regarding center needs, staffing, enrollment, compliance, and concerns Step into classrooms or other areas of the center when necessary to support daily operations Required Qualifications Previous management or supervisory experience is

Applicants must also meet Kentucky licensing requirements to serve as the Director of a Type I Child Care Center. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and meet at least one of Kentucky's qualifying education/experience pathways, which may include: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Education or a Child Development field Master's or Bachelor's degree in another field with required child development training Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and Development Associate degree in another field with required child development training and qualifying childcare experience Director's Credential in Early Childhood Development with qualifying childcare experience Child Development Associate (CDA) with qualifying childcare experience At least 3 years of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a qualifying childcare, early childhood, or school-based program Applicants must also be able to meet all applicable Kentucky background check, health, training, and professional development requirements. Previous childcare management or Director experience Experience supporting or overseeing multiple childcare locations Strong knowledge of Kentucky childcare licensing regulations Experience preparing for or participating in licensing and regulatory visits Experience with staff scheduling, coaching, training, and performance management Experience with enrollment and family relations Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Confidence handling difficult conversations professionally Experience with childcare management software Bilingual or multilingual abilities — a plus!
